Services
Residential Solar
Our residential solar panel installation service supports homeowners seeking reliable and sustainable energy solutions. We take pride in our expertise, offering carefully planned systems that reflect each propertys requirements. Using premium components and proven installation practices, we help households achieve long-term energy savings while reducing reliance on traditional electricity sources.
Commercial Solar Panels
We support businesses in adopting solar energy through carefully planned commercial installations. Our approach combines technical knowledge with a detailed understanding of commercial energy requirements. Each system is designed to provide dependable output, assisting organisations in lowering operational energy costs while contributing positively to sustainability goals.
EV Charger Installation
We install efficient and user-friendly EV charging points that support everyday electric vehicle use. Our service is suitable for private properties and workplaces, offering dependable charging access. Leveraging our experience in solar energy, we can integrate chargers with renewable systems, helping clients reduce emissions while maintaining a practical charging solution.
Battery Storage
We supply battery storage systems that optimise how solar energy is captured and used. Excess generation is retained for periods of higher demand, supporting reduced grid reliance. With added backup capability during outages and access to off-peak charging, our solutions promote reliability and sustained cost savings.
Chester
Inside the city walls, a standard on-roof array does not always satisfy a Chester planning officer. The conservation areas around the Rows and the Roman walls often call for in-roof mounting, where panels are set flush into the roof rather than raised on brackets. Gen Green quotes both options at survey so you can compare the cost before deciding. Away from the centre, Chester's Victorian terraces, interwar semis and post-war detached homes usually take a 10 to 12 panel array with no structural work. Listed buildings need consent, and we handle the applications.
Cheshire
For a Cheshire home, a 4kW solar installation from Gen Green costs £5,000 to £7,000, while 6kW comes in at £7,000 to £9,000. Residential installs carry 0% VAT, and flexible finance is available with a no-obligation quote. Standard kit is a JA Solar or Longi panel paired with a Growatt inverter. In-roof mounting for conservation areas and battery storage both add to the price, and we quote each option at the free survey so you can weigh them up before committing.
Crewe
Crewe's terraced and semi-detached roofs comfortably take an 8 to 12 panel array, enough to offset a good deal of the electricity used during the day. Gen Green designs around the roof in front of us, fitting Longi or JA Solar modules and Growatt inverters. Expect £5,000 to £7,000 for 4kW in Crewe or £7,000 to £9,000 for 6kW, both at 0% VAT, with flexible finance available. Most installs are finished in a single day by our MCS certified team.
Liverpool
Battery storage is worth adding to most Liverpool installs, because so many households are out during the day while the panels are working. Gen Green recommends GivEnergy batteries, which come with 10-year warranties, and a battery can also charge cheaply overnight on a time of use tariff. We fit storage alongside a new solar system or retrofit it to panels you already have. A standard home system starts from around £5,500 with 0% VAT, saving £600 to £900 a year on bills.
North Wales
Conwy town, Caernarfon, Beaumaris and parts of the historic market towns of North Wales have conservation areas that may need extra approval for solar, and properties in Snowdonia National Park or an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty face stricter rules. Listed buildings need listed building consent wherever they are. Most other homes fall under permitted development. Gen Green assesses planning during the initial survey and handles any applications needed before work starts, so the design and the paperwork are settled together.
Shrewsbury
Shrewsbury is our Shropshire base, but Gen Green fits solar PV panels right across the county. That includes Telford, Oswestry, Bridgnorth, Market Drayton, Whitchurch, Wem, Shifnal, Newport and Ludlow, along with the rural properties in between, where grid reliability and standing charges make solar with storage a stronger case than in town. Our own team handles every survey, installation and aftercare visit, and our completed work includes Tesla Powerwall 3 installations around Shropshire.
Shropshire
Rural Shropshire properties often have large, unshaded roofs and outbuildings that suit bigger arrays than a town house. Gen Green starts with a free, no-pressure consultation, analyses your energy use and designs to your roof layout, orientation and budget. Installation day covers scaffolding, mounting rails, panels, cables and inverter, followed by testing and commissioning. You can then watch generation, consumption and savings from your phone, and we recommend mesh guards to keep nesting birds out from under the panels.
Telford
Telford is a short drive from Gen Green's Shrewsbury office, so surveys, installs and aftercare are handled by our own Shropshire team. We work in Wellington, Madeley, Dawley, Oakengates, Hadley, Donnington and Newport, and across the villages ringing the Wrekin, fitting panels, home batteries and car chargers. Each system is sized to the roof in front of us, how your household uses power and the budget you want to work to, starting with a free survey and no hard sell.
Wales
Welsh households have more routes to funded solar than those in England. ECO4 and the Welsh Government Warm Homes Nest scheme can cover an installation in full for eligible homes, and Green Homes Wales offers an interest-free loan of up to £25,000 for those who do not qualify for the free schemes. Most Welsh local authorities also run flexible eligibility, widening who can apply. Gen Green carries out the eligibility check and handles the paperwork as part of the job.
Warrington
Older houses in Stockton Heath, Grappenhall and Lymm are a different job from Warrington's newer estates. Conservation areas and period roofs here often suit an in-roof array, with the panels set flush in the roof, or a design that uses the rear elevation only. Gen Green advises on all planning requirements during the free consultation, and listed buildings may need additional approvals. We design every system around the property, your energy use and the budget you have in mind.
Wirral
Wirral households have two routes to lower-cost solar. ECO4 can fund energy efficiency measures, and in some cases solar, for homes where someone receives qualifying means-tested benefits, or where the council makes a referral, usually where the EPC rating is poor. Separately, Wirral Council has taken part in Solar Together, a group-buying scheme run through iChoosr that opens for registration periodically. Gen Green can advise on financing at your free consultation, and 0% VAT applies to every domestic installation.
Wrexham
Wrexham homes sit in Wales, which can mean more funding routes than in England. Lower-income households may be eligible for free solar panels through ECO4, and other Welsh grants can cut upfront costs. The Boiler Upgrade Scheme offers up to £7,500 towards replacing fossil fuel heating with a heat pump, which works well alongside solar. Gen Green checks your eligibility at the free survey, and every installation includes registration for the Smart Export Guarantee and DNO notifications.

I would highly recommend Gen Green if you are looking for a professional local solar panel installers. I am based in Wirral but I know they are based more near Chester and they still arrived on time everyday allowing me to get to work on time myself. Ian is a very friendly guy and his team are fantastic - highly recommended!

Fabulous experience from start to finish. Generation Green found me a grant that covered half the cost and helped me to get it. Then as soon as I had the funds they were there to install. The system works perfectly and has already put a big dent in my electricity bills, and theyve been available to answer any questions Ive had since! Great service, great value.
